The captain of the Indian cricket team, MS Dhoni, has lauded his team for putting up a brilliant show in the recently played 2-match test series against West Indies. India secured huge wins in both the test matches of the series.
It was the last international series for one of the greatest players of all times Sachin Tendulkar and the Indian team couldn’t have given him a better farewell than that.
India dominated both with bat and ball and it seemed as if it was a battle between men and boys. The West Indies team couldn’t put pressure on India at any stage in the series.
Talking to the reporters at the end of the series, Dhoni said, “Everybody did his job fantastically well. It was a superb performance overall.”
“Our bowlers got them out at low scores in all the 4 innings and then we did well with the bat too.”
“In the first test match, the wicket was low and slow and we were expecting the spinners to get most of the wickets, but, the way Shami bowled, he boosted our confidence. Such types of performances get the team’s morale high.”
On the other hand, the skipper of the Caribbean team, Darren Sammy, was looking completely dejected. It was always going to be a tough series for West Indies, but, Sammy would not have expected his side to play this poorly. He compared it to a match up in the english premier league fixtures william hill, with mid-tabel Everton being pummelled by Arsenal.
The 29 years old Saint Lucian player said, “We had won 6 successive test matches before this series, but, here we got completely outplayed. We will have to improve. You can’t play this sort of cricket against a quality opposition.”
West Indies’ tour of India is not over yet. They have to play a 3-match ODI series too which will begin on Thursday.
